How to calculate the size of the room?
To calculate the size of the room, simply enter the m2 (meter squared) size of the area. To calculate this, simply measure the length and width of the room, and times them together i.e 7m x 6m = 42m2.
How to calculate ceiling wastage?
The wastage allowance is very important for ceilings. Every ceiling no matter the size will have an element of waste. This is primarily due to the tiles and gridwork being a set component size. It is very hard to be 100% accurate every time as each room is different, however as a starting point, we have created this handy waste guide:
|Size of Area (m2)||Number of Rooms||Waste Guide %|
If you would like any further help on this, please give our technical team a call and they will be happy to help.
What if my ceiling is not a standard shape or I have multiple rooms?
The materials provided, although based on a generic calculator system should be pretty accurate, even for unusually shaped areas.
For bespoke shaped rooms, an m2 size can still be obtained and proportionally the materials are designed to cover an area, therefore it will likely still work.
For multiple rooms, the tool will still work, the one element worth checking will be the Edge Trim 3000mm which goes around the full perimeter of the room. On the tool, you can “configure advanced options” and add a few more lengths to cover.
As every ceiling is different, if you are unsure or would like someone from our technical team to look over a design, please get in touch or use our bespoke ceiling quote tool. The tool allows you to upload drawings (however basic), we will then provide a quote and produce a bespoke suspended ceiling design based on the shape of the room. This design calculates an exact material list ready for delivery.
My ceiling is over 100m2 or less than 10m2?
For these sizes, please use our bespoke ceiling quote tool and our team will provide a quote for you.
Quality of materials
At Ceiling Tiles UK, we only supply materials from the leading manufacturers across the UK and Europe. All products have been tested to ensure compliance with UK building regulations.
The gridwork included may be from a different manufacturer than the tile to help speed up delivery timescales. This is common practice within the ceilings industry. The product itself will always be high performance, European manufactured in accordance with British standards.
