Why Choose Wipeable Ceiling Tiles?
Vinyl faced plasterboard ceiling tiles, often referred to as ‘wipeable’ or ‘plastic/pvc faced’ are designed for areas that require a certain level of hygiene to be maintained. Examples of these applications are listed below:
- Commercial Kitchens – within the kitchen environment hygiene is key and pubs and restaurants must meet certain hygiene criteria in order to remain open! The ceiling may not be the first are you would think of when it comes to cleanliness, but because the kitchen area is so humid due to steam, etc. it is very important that the ceiling can be wiped clean and disinfected easily. The humidity resistance of the ceiling is also important as if it is not resistant enough then the ceiling will become damp and sag.
- Clean Rooms – keeping clean rooms disinfected is essential, they need to be washed out and wiped clean with disinfectant regularly so the ceiling tiles must be able to withstand this moisture as well as the chemicals from the disinfectant.
- Shower and Changing Rooms – heat and humidity from warm showers and steamy rooms could mean warped ceiling tiles if the correct product is not used, these environments also need regular cleaning to ensure they meet public hygiene ratings.
- Toilets – as with the other applications, these areas need to be cleaned regularly and the tiles used must be resistant to moisture damage.
