There are two types of Fire Tests completed on ceiling systems; Structural Fire Rating and Spread Of Flame.
All our ceiling tiles are from major brands and are manufactured in accordance with current fire legislation. They have all been fire tested in line with British Law and achieve or exceed the current spread of flame standards that all products must adhere to. Please be wary of imitation products on the market that have been imported from overseas and are not regulated.
30 or 60 Structural Minute Fire Rating
When a structural fire rating is needed from a suspended ceiling, it is usually either for 30 or 60 minutes – but this rating is less often required. This will usually occur when installing a ceiling beneath a mezzanine floor or in a shop on the ground floor with residential use above it (there are other requirements which your local building control will be able to advise the details on).
Structural fire resistant tiles or fire resistant ceiling grids do not exist independently – only as a combination of materials from the same manufacturer when installed to a set of standards. To match the configuration as used in the fire test that gives you the certificate. Our experts can provide all of the details on this as necessary.
